The Block Arcade , you're just majestic and wonderful. This is one elegant 19th century inspired shopping space that is helping Melbourne residents slow down a little. It could be appropriate and popular (again) as the tables are turning between Australia's two major capital cities. Melbourne is actually now the faster paced city out of nearby Sydney. The Block Arcade is refreshing, because it is a pretty, social shopping centre block on Collins and Elizabeth Streets in Melbourne's CBD.

You definitely don't feel rushed here, and this is one locale where it is worth saving up your pennies beforehand. Melbourne is known for its amazing race type experiences, and if you've ever been on such; this experience would have highly likely whisked you inside this pleasant shopping arcade without any thoughts or reservations.

As there is an abundance of beauty, richness and charm in this historical site; The Block Arcade shopping complex is also a popular hot spot at the Melbourne Open House weekend - of which this free event is usually held in July each year.

The Hopetoun Tea Rooms inside this elegant arcade is so appropriate and fitting...maybe because The Great Gatsby phenomenon was ever so popular. This also could be for this inspiring brunch space, with the prettiest sweets forming their window display to make you salivate even greater than Pavlov's dog.

Speaking of food, Haigh's chocolates is also right at home inside The Block Arcade. You really do feel at home here. If you're not a sweets lover, then you will love the home ware items - as well as the greeting cards you can buy here. Tours are also available.

Beauty store Crabtree & Evelyn is amazing, and it was ever so tempting to buy a box of 12 hand creams, as per their simple yet pretty window display. On a Sunday morning, The Block Arcade is the earliest shopping space to open in Melbourne City. Enjoy peace, quiet, calm and serenity while shopping in style. You're not far from Bourke Street Mall either.

Fashion lovers, you will also love the quality suits and shoes you can buy here.
