David Jones Bourke Street Mall

David Jones is an Australian based reputable department store that celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2013. Bourke Street Mall is a hub of all things shopping and retail therapy. Therefore it is appropriate to have a David Jones department store on this end of Melbourne. Similar to the set up in Sydney with a store in Elizabeth Street, and another store in Market Street; David Jones at Bourke Street Mall in Melbourne is occupied on both sides of this popular shopping strip - with the tram tracks separating the mens and ladies wear departments to begin with.



On the side where tram routes 86 and 96 are heading away from Bundoora and East Brunswick respectively, you will find the men's clothing area with a tempting food hall downstairs. The downstairs food hall area leads onto one great cafe that every shopper craves for both free WiFi, as well as a chance to sit down, unwind and recharge the batteries.

The opposite side (where Myer and Zara are located) welcomes the ladies into beauty paradise, with a connection to the new Emporium Melbourne at the other end. It is heaven here. You can buy hats, scarves and perfume all on the one floor. That elegant statue spells quality and luxe as soon as you enter in from Bourke Street.



Another four levels further up welcomes you to more quality clothes and shoes. Even Christian Louboutin has a dedicated luxe space (to the likes of airline lounges) to try new pairs of shoes on in this particular department store.



The dinnerware area is just stunning. It is difficult to know where to start browsing for home inspiration. Brands such as Wedgwood and Versace live here. You could easily spend up to an hour on the lowest level alone at this David Jones store, due to the abundance of choices available.



The top floor (level 5) is heaven for the little ones. Designer children's clothing from Ralph Lauren, Industrie for Kids and Burberry lives here. Turn the corner, and many plush toys and other toy kits are discovered - as well as children's cots and prams.
