Wheatbelt Beads is an online retailer specialising in the supply of a variety of beads, components, tools and materials for beautiful beaded jewellery making. This new business is the only one of its kind to be based in WA's Wheatbelt.

In addition to selling its vast selection of beads, charms, pendants, beadables, Crystal Clay and all the tools you might need for beaded and altered art jewellery, it is also dedicated to supporting its customers to improve their skills and enjoyment of jewellery making.

Select your beads

As well as running the business, Wheatbelt Beads' owner, Sheree Lowe also helps people to learn about technique and about using the tools and components through 'make and take' classes at the local markets. Sheree is also committed to helping her customers by being available via social media such as Facebook to tackle questions about products or 'how to' instances. On the companies' Facebook site, Sheree has recently started up a weekly challenge where her Facebook likers set Sheree a challenge to make something that incorporates a particular piece. There's also a handy blog on the site where Sheree demonstrates the types of creations that she has been working on.

Some of the customers of Wheatbelt Beads go on to sell their creations, and to this end, the product range also includes a number of jewellery display options that will help experienced beaders best present their jewellery to prospective buyers.

Make your own ankle bracelet

Prices on the site vary, due to the range of components available; with beads from as little as 15c all the way up to $12. There are also kits available, that include all the bits and pieces you'll need to make your masterpiece. These kits are perfect for beginners who want to give beading a try but don't want to invest in too many tools whilst they see if they like it. A kit for a stunning ankle bracelet is priced at $7.95, and the best bit about this is that when someone asks where you got it from, you can say that you made it yourself.
